| The Y.E.S. Volunteer Program provides a short-term opportunity where you will be living and working in a needy rural village and building homes side by side with local people. Our program allows you a unique travel experience with a purpose - you will be a part of a team working to change the lives of orphaned children. Even if you have no experience, you will be trained in all the skills necessary to construct simple homes that will give these children a secure place to live and grow in their own community. This allows them a chance for an education and the opportunity to come out of the poverty they were born into. Volunteers will be able to participate in all aspects of mud home construction alongside local families and other community members. The specific work you perform will depend in part on your physical capability. Some of the possible activities volunteers would be involved with are transporting of supplies, landscaping, site clearing, carpentry work, mixing cement, building the home's reed frame, mixing and packing of mud, digging, plastering, and general construction work. Besides your physical labor, your presence in the community will be well respected and welcomed. This is not only an opportunity to help families by building a home, but you will be building relationships and changing their lives.Come join us for a life changing opportunity, and the life you change may be your own.
